Back from Nicaragua..

Well what a great trip!

The waves started out about 2-3ft on Monday and Tuesday morning and slowly started to build throughout the day Tuesday.

Wednesday we saw head high + sets coming through with perfect weather and winds.

Thursday morning we drove up to a "secret" left that was pumping!!15ft on sets! Just picture Mundaka without the wetsuit, with only about 20 guys out.

Thursday afternoon I had a nice solo session in 8-12ft waves at the beach break that we surfed for most of the trip.
I think I put in about 10 hours of surf on Thursday, it was so good.

Friday we saw a drop in the swell...about 8-10 on sets and of course, offshore winds.

Saturday, our last day, we surfed 6-8ft beach break with only about 4 other guys out.

I met some very cool people along the way. One guy, John, from Iowa, Chuck from Long Island, and another guy, who I cant remember his name, who works for the US Embassy (hope I don't have to see him at work).

We surfed every single night at the beach break and the sessions usually ended with an ice cold Tona from Chuck.

Cant wait to get back there again...

Photography

My interest in photography started my senior year in high school. I was looking for an excuse to visit my brother in Australia during my senior project. so my Mom came up with the idea of getting a photography internship for a surfing magazine. Perfect!

The only problem is I live in Pennsylvania..

I contacted Jason Murray, the former photo editor of Surfer Magazine and current photo consultant for Quiksilver, to get some advice as to where to start my surf photography "career". Jason was able to give me some great advice for starting out and I still, to this day, e-mail him whenever I have questions in regards to surf photography.

While in Australia, I realized how much I really enjoyed photography.

From that trip on, whether it be a waterproof throw away or a more technical camera, I have had a camera with me. From fishing in Canada to hiking in Ireland to surfing in Costa Rica. I have had a camera with me.

This is just an introduction to myself and throughout the year I will update the site with new pictures and stories from my trips.

Enjoy..
